Máxima - vegan bonbon
Inspired by her mom's home islands and driven by a passion to bring the history of 'The Spice Islands' to live again, Salomé created this bonbon.
The queen of spices: cardemom, mixed with a fresh and sweet fruit, mango. What better name to give it, than the queen of the Netherlands? Máxima!
Amsterdam & Spices
In the 17th century Amsterdam became one of the richest cities in the world due to the 'trade' in spices like nutmeg, clove and black pepper. The smell of spices was sometimes so strong that people would call Amsterdam 'Spice City'.
The cacao we use is single origin from one plantation in Congo, national park Virunga. The cacao project aims to train local people to cacao farmers (13.000 families), creating a sustainable income and thus also protecting wildlife in the park from poaching. A win-win for everyone!
